Is not to be disowned
For it is our own
Caused by the insanity
The hole in our humanity
Our greed
Our over-consumption
Our ego`s creed
Our life`s every day gazumption
Filling and overspilling
Our life`s to the brim
Beating to the beat
Of a capitalistic hymn
Our motto is to live for today
For tomorrow brings another day
But yesterday is now today
And for yesterday we must now pay
Of course - the ones at the top don`t care
As long as they get their fat cat share
Pushing profits as high as they dare
Plundering the earth beyond repair
I am determined to keep my head
To say what needs to be said
To keep in reality`s grip
While everything slips
Into reality`s insanities
It`s hot and cold calamities
For global warming is a real nightmare
A nightmare we all share
As the earth`s atmosphere becomes depleted
Are WE to be deleted ?
Too scared of being politically defeated
World leaders stall for time
Demanding more and more proof
While the world loses it`s roof
And gains an unstable clime
As the earth`s remaining lungs finally collapse
Like those of an addicted and afflicted smoker
Through wild fire or simply the axe
